Properties that will always have a more difficult time of it include:

1. Older houses
   
   
2. Purchased council estate houses
   
   
3. 3 bedroom houses
   
   
4. Small houses in remote villages
   
   
5. Houses on a main road
   
   
6. Small flats
   
   
7. Flats over shops
   
   
8. Large houses on small plots
   
   
9. Houses with bottled gas, oil, electric, or, worst of all, coal-fired central heating
   
   
10. Houses with NO central heating
    
    
11. Houses without mains drains (i.e. that have a 'cess pit')

Properties with a lot of trees around them tend to gain a covering of moss over time. It's unsightly but not structurally damaging. However, getting rid of it and redecorating is a real joy!
